Hmmm... me too on the whimsical ponderings. I'm not fond of chillout or panties either. But that's just me.

"Lover" makes my skin crawl, but how about "lady" used like "here comes my 'lady' now" Horrible.

You're blog cracks me up so much...I love it.

I'm with you on ponderings especially when it comes to the myriad blogs that use it in the title, so I have added musings and rants to my list of words that bother me.

I'm not with you on whimsical, however. It is such a happy word. I say it and smile.

I know.

I'm weird.

I am so PENDULOUS-LY happy that you have posted again.
I had only just found you and then you were gone for a while.
goiter.
gout.

Lover, especially, because of the way people say it. They have to hang onto that first "L" and make it sound all trashy. Not that trashy is bad, except when your great aunt introduces you to her "lover" at the family christmas party...anyway, love your site.

Blackbirds hub says
pustule.

Blackbird says, if hub ever referred to her as his lady, she would develop a pustule.

Oooooooh! What would you develop if he referred to you as his "special lady"?! Which is worse: a canker or a boil?

Clipped Wings added rants ... I'd like to add raves.

I dislike "random." Every other blog is random thoughts, random musings, my random life. Gah.

RisibleGirl said...

I despise the word "moist".

Don't ask me why...

So what you're saying, essentially, is that Madonna's music is out.

oh yes, i agree on the *lover* ... worsened only by *lovah*

Ms Mac,

Chillout -- gah, in my younger years I think I may have used that one more than anyone should. Panties is not a word that bugs me though, although, you are not alone on that one.

Marty,

Lady is so bad and has bothered me for so many years that it's almost become okay for me now, in a post-modern, Justin Timberlake kind of way. But thinking bcak, oh, man, the guys who would use it trying to sound "classy"...that would bother me on so many levels.

Jen,

Boogie for me is way to hippy-guy from my high school. Have you always liked that word or is its appeal in that "post-modern" sense for you?

Clipped wings,

Thank you for laughing at my blog! And agreed on the musings and rants. Again, for me, whimsical is the hippy guy from my high school who liked to "amuse" people by juggling.

Blackbird,

Golly, thank you! Oh goiter and gout definitely in the gross word category--no question.

Ordinarydad,

Hahah the great aunt! The way that "lover" gets me is in "I have taken a lover". Which really needs always to be followed up with "And yes, I have an airline sickness bag handy". And thank you for loving my site!

Blackbird's Hub By Way of Blackbird,

Gah, pustule, agreed!

Marty,

Special Lady: that sounds like a "lover" with a learning disability.

Julie,

Raves, agreed, and fab or fabu, oh God, especially Fabu.

Fizzy,

Yes, the teen section could go on an on. I agree with all of those. (Although i think I say "do you know what I mean" then I try to hip it up by saying "Do you know?"

Blackbird,

Okay, canker. But rivulet and fissure? If you think of them as terms a geologist would use they seem less gross.

Risible Girl,

I think I know what you mean--is it in the delivery? People who seem to delight in saying the word Mmmooooiiiiisst -- that's kinda creey.

Jamie,

Yes, random is definitely overused.

Janet,

I was thinking of that Madonna song when I included that, um, form of address I guess. And no, I have never really been a Madonna fan.

Funkyjunkie,

Agreed! Lovah makes it even worse.

Andrea,

I don't get that, but Ms Mac does!

Thanks everyone one for your great comments!
